Therapy tips for aches, sprains and strains
Aches, Sprains & Strains
Muscle aches and pain are very common. At some point in time everyone has experienced some kind of mild to severe discomfort. This discomfort can be caused by many different things, from overuse, overexertion and even underuse. The best tip we can give to help treat aches and pains is to prevent them.
Prevention
- Keep fluids up, stay hydrated
- Stretch before and after
- Use Recovertie Heat and compression to increase blood flow and engage muscles
- Get mobile (Whether it periodic walks around your living room or a training session)
However, sometimes aches and pains just seem to come out of nowhere. The good thing is that they are easily treatable by:
- Resting the area of pain
- Taking pain relief medication
- Applying Recovertie Ice and Compression to relieve pain and reduce inflammation
Aches, Sprains and Strains
For immediate therapy for sprains and strains the gold standard is the RICE Approach. Upgrade your recovery with Recoverites compression garments and ice and heat modalities.
Rest: Don’t participate in any activities that cause pain, swelling or discomfort to the injured area. However doing alternate training which does not impact the injury has been found to also speed up recovery
Ice: With the help of Recoverites specially engineered pockets with our compression garments you can ice the area immediately whilst simultaneously using compression. Use Recoverites clay flex discs and capsules within your compression sock periodically for 15 to 20 minutes each for up to two to three hours for the first few days after the injury.
Compression: To help stop swelling, use Recoverites Medical grade Quantum compression sock. Our compression sock is a 30-40mmHg medical grade compression sock with breathable material which won’t hinder circulation.
Elevation: Elevating the injured area above the level of your heart, will assist in reducing the amount of blood flow to the area of the injury and reduce the swelling making for a quicker recovery.
For any pain that remains after 3 days apply Recoverites medical grade compression sock with heated clayflex discs and capsules
